The sea fishing is a dominant economic and social activity, with a frontage of over 100km along and Mediterranean, the region has developed an important marine fishery, which is one of its key economic sectors. The port of Al Hoceima, ranked at the 5th position of the national level of fisheries yields, has recently undergone expansion works to improve its productivity.
