Despite the availability of natural resources and raw materials, industrial activity is still in its embryonic stage and primarily represented by food industry , clothing and wood industries, chemicals and pharmacy. The main feature related to this sector is presented as follows:

The region of 366 industrial units of which 55% are located in Taza, generating 3,000 job positions with an average annual turnover estimated at around 603,996,000 Dhs

Prevalence of agribusiness with 117 units is an annual production of about 386,967,000 dirhams. 

The textile sector is developed merely in the province of Taza with 29 units and an annual production estimated at 236,033,000 Dhs.

Industrial activity in the region is organized in dedicated zones: that of Ait Youssef Ou Ali   in the province of Al Hoceima is active since 1998 and covers a surface area of 55 426 m2, while that of Taza includes 35 Industrial units over 14 acres. A second instalment of the Taza region has recently been established with the aim to create nearly 2 500 additional jobs in the industrial sector.
