The craft has an ancestral craftsmanship and has a diversified production: 

Textile, wood, basketry, leather, pottery, metal work: regional handcraft production with great richness and variety, with an old craftsmanship. This local potential creates very interesting investment opportunities in a growing industry, for which Morocco is recognized worldwide.

• 20 000 artisans including: 
• 1 085 in leather, 
• 4 507 in textile 
• 426 in jewellery and metal works, 
• 1 992 in the traditional carpentry, 
• 880 in pottery and stone sculpturing, 
• 3 269 in herbal products, 
• 7841 in divers craft activities, 
• 76 cooperatives and craft associations, 
• Many specialized craft centres.

The region has many historical handicrafts centres, each with a local specific expertise. A project of artisans village is underway in Taza, with  a budget of 4.8 million

- Oued Amlil: sculptured stones; 

- Tahla: carpet .

- Bni Frassen: basketry. 

• Al Hoceima Province 

- Taghzout: Leather Work and woodcarving; 

- Rouadi Commune: basketry 

- Teghazza: pottery; 

- Imrabten Commune: pottery at Idardouchan. 

• Taounate  Province 

- Oulad Azam: weaving; 

- Moulay Bouchta: basket; 

- Aslas: pottery; 

- Bni Oulid: woodcarving. 

• Guercif Province
